The teacher started to
lightly touch upon the subject of magic when the school breaks ended. Though
for those students that does not have any element, the teacher explained that
they do not have the talent for magic, by which some of them raised their hands
up to ask the teacher.
“Teacher! Is it not
possible to train to get magic talent?”
“Train? You must have
asked this because of your past senior.” The teacher smiled, “Well, a lot of
students have tried, but none other than that one senior, no one has been
successful at all.” The teacher said as she shook her head.
“Awh, really… what a
bummer.” That student pouted.
“But don’t be sad,
everyone who does not have talent in magic will be allowed to choose if they
want to train in your physical.”
“Physical training?”
“Yes, it is one that
help in increasing your toughness, endurance and also survivability. But we
won’t force you to join military or something. So it is all up to you on the
path after you graduated.” She smile and added, “So it will be okay. Even I,
your teacher also does not have talent for magic, and only end up joining those
student in training my physical.”
“Eh.. What is the
difference?”
“It is basically just
like you join a club activity, that’s all. So because of that, I can only
suggest you books to read about magic for magic student, and for the rest, I
can show you the training room.” She smiled, with the students still looking a
bit confused.
Then again one of them
ask her, “Teacher! I got a question!”
“Ah? Yes what is it?”
“Is it possible for
those who got talent in magic to also join the physical training too?” That
student look serious, “Is it also possible if they don’t want to learn magic,
can they refuse it?”
“Is that so, well, for
your first question, yes you can, but your priority is more toward magic so you
will only be able to join on the days without the magic class.” She said with a
chuckle, “For the second question, most will not usually refuse, but we allow
you to refuse because something forced are often will not give a good result.”
With that the students
whispers and discussed with each other, seemed that some of them are not
planning to learn that magic despite being detected in having some talent in
magic. The teacher upon seeing that there does not seem like any student wanted
to ask anymore, the teacher walked to the desk and take a seat, as she watched
over them.
Riz looked at his
classmates which he are recently being close with, they too seems unsure if they
would like to learn it or not so Riz suggested to them, “Well, I think its fine
to try? If me, I’m thinking of trying it for a few months, if I didn’t like it,
I’ll go submit a class withdrawal form to our class teacher.”
“Eh? Can we do that?”
The others asked and looked at the teacher, and some even went to the teacher
to ask about that. Seeing that the teacher nods, a lot of them consider that
they should at least try this first before deciding.
With that, in the
other half of the school year, there are a new subject being added in their
schedule, which will teach the students about magic, lightly touch the history,
and how to use if for the first time. These are deemed as a basic, so that
subject is only being teach twice a month instead of daily like the other
subject.
With that, the months
passed by, and then year by year passed by. Those who liked magic and choose to
learn it took the supplementary lesson which are separated from their class
schedule, and due to not many students choosing to learn it, that separate
lesson is being made in one class with all the other students from other
classes being combined into that class.
Those who choose to
learn magic was asked to drink a liquid in a test tube provided by the teacher
when they first come to the class. From the testament given by their seniors in
the next class, that liquid is to amplify their magic talent further, so that
their learning is better and smoother, but the side effect is something certain
people are not able to easily accept.
From what they can
see, all their seniors that are learning magic all have one distinct
similarities, where they all have a pair of animal ears with or without tails,
and some of them have a stunted growth too, means that some of them are shorter
than the average person, despite their increasing age, some of them never grow
taller than 155 cm.
While the rest of the
ones that choosing not to learn magic instead join the physical training
classes, which act like a curriculum activities, and they learned how to fight
and defend themselves from ill intended people. These people grow taller than
the magic students, and much tougher and resilient. Despite the different
choice, they never fought each other, and instead back up each other when their
schoolmates are facing problems.
So any incident such
as kidnapping or bullying are something rarely happens in this whose school due
to how united the students were.

With that, 6 years
passed by, and by now Riz is now a university student, and he was still living
in the same building as the headmaster, with both his two siblings, where they
are now at the age of 11 years old, and are currently learning at the middle school.
Riz despite just
recently entered the university, he was already bombed with a lot of
assignments and homework, and unexpectedly he met his previous classmate from
his previous school, where they seems to be taking the same course, however Riz
of course did not notice his previous classmate, since he now was often
surrounded by new friends.

Joseph stared at a short classmate
that just arrived at the class, he cannot help but rub his eyes a few time, and
gasped, “So he is here. He moved here?” He mumbled and watched as that
classmate walked happily to the front row in the hall and took a seat. His blue
hair are now a bit longer that it was enough to be tied behind, and his round
childish face are now a bit longer with his used to be big eyes are now a lot
more smaller and narrower. However his height are rather short for an average
man.
What is more baffling to Joseph
is, he saw there were a pair of fluffy but sharp animal ear on top of the head,
and behind him is a big fluffy tail swinging slowly to the left and right.
Joseph has heard that this institute is owned by a rich lady, where she has a
sort of fetish of liking fluffy things, particularly something furry.
He wondered if that classmate of
him is a victim to that lady or not, however he decided that he is not going to
let that lady touch his friend any more after this, with that his eyes narrowed
slightly.

When recess came, Joseph walked
down the stairs and was just approaching that friend of his when some other
girls pushed him away with a squeal and surrounded Riz, “Riz! Can I pat you?”
one of them asked with eyes sparkling, though their earlier squealing startled
Riz a lot, making his ear flopped down and he hug his tail, as if defending
himself, but to those girls it make them squeal a lot more.
And one of them dragged Riz out
followed with the other girls behind them as they walked to the cafeteria
together. Riz shook his shoulder, feeling helpless as he followed them due to
their firm grip on his arm, showing that they will let him go anywhere soon.
